Understanding the ministry, presence, and partnership of angels in a believer’s life.

Walking with God has always involved more than human effort; it includes the unseen assistance of the spiritual realm. This sermon reveals how God appoints ministering spirits to walk with His people and why understanding the ministry of angels is essential for spiritual maturity, protection, and alignment with divine purpose. It is a call to become aware of Heaven’s involvement in your daily life, not through mysticism, but through biblical truth and spiritual clarity.
This article is based on the sermon “Walking With Angels” preached by Prophet Lovy Elias on 4 July 2022 at Revelation Church Los Angeles.
Study Notes
1. Preparing the Heart: Recognising God’s Goodness and Human Need
The teaching begins by centering the heart on God’s goodness. Worship becomes meaningful only when one understands why God is worthy of praise.
Key points:
Genuine praise flows from awareness.
People often chant phrases like “God is good” without understanding the depth behind them.
“Worthy” implies comparison.
Something is worthy because it exceeds another measure. God is worthy because His goodness stands above what humanity truly deserved.
Understanding personal unworthiness intensifies worship.
When one recognises the weight of sin and the magnitude of mercy, praise becomes deeper and more intentional.
God chose mercy above justice.
Though justice demanded punishment, God broke His own protocol through the sacrifice of Jesus.
Worship is transformed when anchored in revelation, not habit.
2. Scriptural Foundation: The Ministry of Angels (Hebrews 1:14)

The foundational scripture is introduced:
“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
Important truths extracted from this:
Angels are ministering spirits — their core function is service.
They are sent forth — dispatched by God for purposeful assignments.
They minister for believers — actively assisting those who inherit salvation.
The word minister means to serve.
This establishes that angelic assistance is biblical, intentional, and essential.
Many struggles believers face come from lack of awareness, not lack of provision. God has already assigned spiritual resources—yet many do not know how to recognise or engage them.
3. Why Believers Often Miss Angelic Ministry
There is an imbalance in the modern church:
People speak frequently about demons, oppression, attacks, and warfare.
Yet rarely discuss angels, glory, assistance, and divine support.
This creates a distorted spiritual worldview:
Demonic manifestations are acknowledged.
Angelic manifestations are doubted or ignored.
Darkness is recognised quickly, but heavenly involvement goes unnoticed.
The teaching challenges this mindset by asking:
Why are negative spiritual experiences recognised more easily than positive ones?
If Scripture consistently shows angelic activity, why should believers be unfamiliar with it?
Heaven’s support is real and active—often more than believers realise.
4. Real-Life Examples of Angelic Intervention
The message includes several personal testimonies showing how angels operate in practical, tangible ways. These examples are not sensational—they illustrate how angelic assistance aligns with assignment and protection.
Airport Encounter (2007)
During international travel, a visa issue threatened immediate deportation.
After silent prayer, a man appeared from a different direction holding the passport.
He gave clear directions to the correct gate—despite there being no boarding pass yet.
The original officer was still walking away with the same passport.
The assistance was supernatural, precise, and timely.
Car Tire Incident
After a tire explosion on the road, a man appeared with the exact needed replacement.
He changed it effortlessly and vanished shortly after.
Both examples show:
Angels can manifest physically when necessary.
Their assignments include logistics, protection, and redirecting danger.
Many angelic interventions occur unnoticed unless spiritually aware.
5. Prophetic Function and Angelic Partnership
The teaching highlights that:
The Holy Spirit is God; angels are created servants.
Angels assist with interpretation, communication, and execution of divine assignments.
There is a distinct difference between what God communicates directly and what angels handle.
Example from Daniel
Daniel received visions from God but could not understand them.
An angel (Gabriel) was sent to explain the mysteries.
This demonstrates that even when God speaks, interpretation may still require assistance.

This truth reveals:
Believers can hear from God yet misunderstand.
Clarity often comes through angelic interpretation.
6. Crucial Correction: Not Everyone Automatically Has Angels
One of the strongest corrections in the teaching:
❌ Misconception
“Every human has a guardian angel.”
“Every Christian automatically has angels.”
✔ Biblical truth
Angelic companionship opens at specific moments, according to calling, maturity, assignment, and alignment.
Evidence:
Even Jesus did not walk with angels until age 30.
After resisting temptation in the wilderness, then angels came to minister to Him.
Matthew 4:11 — “Then the devil left Him, and angels came and ministered unto Him.”
This marks:
The beginning of active angelic ministry in His earthly life.
A shift that empowered His miracles, deliverance, and public assignment.
7. Why the Devil Used Scripture to Tempt Jesus About Angels
During the wilderness temptation:
The devil quoted Psalm 91 regarding angelic protection.
He challenged Jesus to jump and “see if angels would come.”
This reveals:
The devil recognised the importance of angelic assignment.
He attempted to provoke premature activation.
Jesus refused to test God.
The timing of angelic ministry matters.
8. Types of Angelic Encounters Seen in Scripture
Three categories emerge:
Permanent assignment
Reserved for unique destinies such as Moses, Samuel, Jesus.
Seasonal assignment
Angels appear briefly to give instructions or direction.
Situational intervention
Based on God’s mercy, especially during danger or crisis.
Examples:
Gabriel’s visits to Mary, Joseph, Zechariah were assignment-specific—not lifelong companionship.
Awareness of these distinctions prevents unrealistic assumptions.
9. Spiritual Resistance: Understanding Angelic Warfare
Daniel’s story shows the dynamics of angelic warfare:
Gabriel was sent immediately but faced resistance.
The “prince of Persia” opposed him for 21 days.
Michael, described as a powerful heavenly prince, intervened.

This reveals:
Angelic ranks determine spiritual authority.
Angels collaborate in warfare.
Delays in manifestation do not mean prayers were unheard.
10. Scriptural Patterns of Angelic Partnership
Several biblical figures walked with angels:
Moses
Elijah
Elisha
Jeremiah
Joshua
Notable examples:
Jericho fell because one angel gave the strategy.
Peter was freed from prison by one angel.
Early believers were so accustomed to angelic ministry they assumed:
“That must be Peter’s angel.”
This historical familiarity contrasts with modern unfamiliarity—highlighting a gap in spiritual awareness today.
11. Misconception #1 — “Everyone Has an Angel Since Birth”
One of the strongest corrections in the teaching is the dismantling of a widely-held belief:
Not everyone is born with angels assigned to them.
Key insights:
If all children automatically had guardian angels, the infants killed under Pharaoh or Herod would have been protected.
In Scripture, angels communicated with the parents (Mary, Joseph, Zechariah), not with the infants themselves.
Angels ensured the survival of certain children because of assignment, not because “every baby has an angel.”
Important distinction:
Some destinies require early angelic involvement to protect and preserve the vessel.
But permanent angelic companionship is rare and based on divine purpose.
12. Misconception #2 — “All Christians Have Angels Simply Because They Believe”
Another major clarification:
Believing in Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit does not automatically mean angels encamp around you.
Reasons:
Scripture teaches clear spiritual conditions for angelic proximity.
Angels are drawn to certain environments, not simply to religious identity.
Many Christians suffer unnecessary battles because they assume a protection they never activated
The teaching highlights that:
Salvation secures the soul before God.
But physical, situational, and destiny-related protection requires alignment with the spiritual principles God established.
13. Requirement #1 — The Fear of the Lord Attracts Angels
A pivotal revelation:
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him.
This reveals a non-negotiable condition:
Angels encamp only where the fear of God is active.
The fear of the Lord refers to reverence, awareness, and intentional living unto God—not terror.
A person who thinks about pleasing God, avoiding offense, and honouring His presence attracts angels naturally because that environment resembles heaven.
Key understanding:
The fear of the Lord is not about perfection.
People stumble, but their hearts remain anchored in God.
Angels are drawn to people who:
Honour God in thought and behaviour
Avoid carelessness in speech
Seek to please God over pleasing themselves
Maintain spiritual awareness in daily life
This spiritual atmosphere magnetises angelic presence.
14. Requirement #2 — Understanding How Angels Respond to Words
A profound portion of the teaching explains how angels operate:
Angels excel in strength as they carry out God’s commands, hearkening to the voice of His word.
Important truths:
Angels obey the voice of God’s word, not merely the text.
When believers speak carelessly, angels have nothing to execute.
When believers speak in alignment with Scripture, angels respond.
Why words matter:
Angelic technologies are voice activated.
Every idle word is recorded and must be accounted for.
Words that carry fear, doubt, negativity, or hopelessness paralyse angelic movement.
Words that carry faith, alignment, and scripture empower angelic movement.
This explains why:
Some believers experience momentum
Others remain stagnant
Some have cycles of spiritual inconsistency
Others experience rapid breakthrough
The difference often lies in speech.
15. Why Idle Words Are Spiritually Dangerous
Idle words include:
Negative self-talk
Casual doubt
Complaining
Sarcasm and emotional outbursts
Words spoken without intention or meaning
The teaching emphasises:
Every thought is a voice in the spirit realm.
Thoughts have spiritual frequency and can be heard.
Spirits communicate through thoughts, not vocal cords.
This explains sudden negative impulses, discouraging ideas, or irrational fears.
Examples:
Peter rebuking Jesus (“You will not die”) was a thought inspired by a spirit.
Jesus recognised that the thought-source was not Peter but darkness.
This section teaches believers to:
Guard inner dialogue
Avoid self-sabotaging speech
Speak with spiritual intentionality
Recognise the unseen audience listening to their words
16. How Angels Move, Travel, and Interact with Each Other
A rare and insightful teaching is given on angelic movement:
Angels can temporarily leave one’s vicinity to examine a territory, then return with others.
When entering new places or regions, angels gather information, evaluate atmospheres, and connect with other angels assigned to that area.
Revelations include:
Angels are highly relational and interact with one another.
Angels may accompany a person temporarily or permanently depending on assignment.
Angels often carry messages from God about local territories, spiritual environments, or upcoming events.
This explains:
Why spiritual discernment can increase in unfamiliar environments
Why revelations become clearer after entering certain territories
Why angelic presence sometimes feels different from location to location
17. How Angels React to Human Behaviour
Angels are beings with personality, emotion, and intelligence.
From the teaching:
Angels rejoice
Angels show urgency
Angels demonstrate displeasure
Angels are grieved by disorder
Angels respond to faith and alignment
Angels withdraw from confusion, chaos, and carnality
Examples from Scripture show angels becoming:
Impatient
Offended
Protective
Encouraging
Directive
This corrects the misconception that angels are robotic or emotionless.
18. Positional Error — Being Misinformed Leads to Misalignment
A major theme emerges:
People cannot walk in realities they are misinformed about.
If a believer assumes a false teaching, they position themselves incorrectly.
Misalignment leads to unnecessary warfare, struggle, or stagnation.
Awareness brings activation.
Important principle:
“You cannot seek what you do not know exists.”
If believers do not know:
Angels are assigned
Angels respond to the Word of God
Angels listen to their voice
Angels require reverence
Angels encamp only around certain spiritual conditions
…then believers cannot activate what God provided.
This teaching exposes ignorance as a key barrier.
19. Jesus as the Model of Angelic Partnership
A powerful reminder is given:
Jesus Himself acknowledged His ability to summon twelve legions of angels.
One legion is several thousand.
Twelve legions is overwhelming force.
This highlights:
Jesus was fully aware of the angelic realm.
He lived with intentional alignment.
He worked with angels, not independently of them.
Miracles, deliverance, and ministry were empowered through angelic assistance.
If Jesus walked with angels, believers are invited into the same reality.
20. Spiritual Encounters: Tangibility of Angelic Presence
The teaching clarifies:
Spiritual things are not imaginary.
With increased awareness, spiritual realities become more tangible.
Angels, saints, and heavenly encounters in Scripture were physical enough to be felt, seen, or heard.
Examples include:
Jacob’s ladder
Daniel’s visitations
Moses’ encounters
Encounters involving prophets and patriarchs
Peter’s prison escape
Paul’s visions
Encounters recorded in both Old and New Testaments
Believers today should not assume these experiences have ceased.
The message emphasises:
God still visits
Angels still ascend and descend
Heaven still interacts with earth
21. Practical Example: The Ladder Encounter
A vivid spiritual experience is described:
During a worship moment, Heaven opened.
A ladder appeared—ancient, luminous, tangible.
Angels descended in great number.
The entire room fell under a supernatural atmosphere.
People collapsed under the presence of glory.

Key revelation:
What was seen was not merely a vision; it physically manifested in the room.
This demonstrates:
Encounters on earth can mirror encounters described in Scripture
God’s realm is accessible
Angels are deeply involved in worship and ministry
Glory can fill environments physically
Tangibility increases with awareness and spiritual sensitivity
22. Angels Assist Destiny, Even in Personal Matters
A relatable example is given:
An angel warned about a child misbehaving at school.
Details were revealed that were impossible to know naturally.
The intervention prevented future issues tied to destiny.
This shows:
Angels protect destinies—not only in crises but in upbringing, relationships, and daily decisions.
Heaven intervenes even in small matters when destiny is involved.
Nothing is “too ordinary” for angelic assistance when destiny is at stake.
23. Two Spirits Assigned to Follow Believers: Grace and Mercy
A crucial portion of the teaching highlights Psalm 23:
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
Key insights extracted:
“Goodness” and “mercy” in this context are not abstract ideas.
They are spiritual beings—angels functioning under those divine attributes.
The language “shall follow me” indicates:
They accompany movement
They travel with believers
They manifest divine favour, protection, and assistance
These angels operate differently from general angelic protection:
They specifically carry the ministry of mercy and the ministry of grace, ensuring that
divine favour surrounds,
certain dangers are avoided, and
access is granted where natural effort is insufficient.
This reinforces the idea that angelic ministry is woven into daily Christian life when properly understood.
24. First Practical Step: Awareness and Acknowledgment of Angels
The teaching emphasises that believers must become consciously aware of the spiritual help God provides.
Practical application:
Speak in ways that cultivate awareness:
“Father, thank You for the angels who walk with me.”
“Thank You for angelic assistance in everything I do.”
“Thank You for the heavenly company assigned to my life.”
Incorporating angels into prayer increases spiritual consciousness.
Awareness creates spiritual visibility; visibility increases sensitivity.
The more aware believers become of angels, the more tangible their presence becomes.
This aligns believers with Heaven’s rhythm rather than relying on accidental encounters.
25. Second Practical Step: Pursue the Fear of the Lord
A major spiritual law is given here:
Angels encamp where the fear of the Lord is present.
To cultivate an environment angels settle in:
Remove behaviours that repel heaven
Avoid compromise
Resist habitual sin
Practice reverence
Seek purity of thought
Maintain awareness of God
Choose obedience where others choose convenience
This doesn't demand perfection but intentionality.
When the fear of the Lord is present:
Angels do not merely visit
They encamp
They settle
They familiarise themselves with your environment
They form long-term companionship
This opens the door to consistent angelic partnership, not sporadic intervention.
26. Third Practical Step: Clean Up Speech, Thoughts, and Idle Dialogue
The teaching goes deeper into the law of speech:
Angels respond to the voice of the Word of God.
Idle words confuse angels and empower the wrong spiritual environment.
Why this matters:
Angels are intelligent beings; they listen for instruction.
When believers speak doubt or negativity, angels pause.
When believers speak faith or Scripture, angels move.
This truth explains why:
Some believers see rapid spiritual acceleration
Some experience stagnancy
Some see breakthrough after breakthrough
Some keep restarting spiritual progress
The atmosphere of one’s words directs angelic activity.
Practical guidance:
Speak intentionally
Avoid self-sabotaging thoughts
Don’t magnify problems
Don’t declare hopelessness
Don’t speak defeat
Inner dialogue is spiritual communication.
Angels hear it, demons hear it, and Heaven responds accordingly.
27. Understanding Angelic Strength and Assignment (Psalm 103)
Psalm 103 reveals that angels:
Excel in strength
Do the commands of God
Hearken to the voice of His word
Important revelations drawn:
Angels increase in strength as they carry out assignments.
When a believer grows spiritually, angels assigned to them also grow in strength.
Angels wait for believers to speak words aligned with Scripture so they can act.
This positions the believer as a key participant in spiritual operations, not a passive observer.
28. How Angels Assist in Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare
The teaching reveals:
Many spiritual battles are prolonged because believers fight alone, unaware of the assistance available.
The Holy Spirit empowers believers internally.
Angels confront external attacks, block demonic interference, and protect physical spaces.
Angels provide:
Acceleration
Defense
Strength
Clarity
Prophetic assistance
Supernatural navigation of life’s obstacles
This is why walking with angels makes spiritual life smoother and breakthrough more frequent.
29. Walking With Angels Makes Destiny Easier
A strong truth emerges:
Destiny becomes difficult only when angelic assistance is missing or inactive.
Jesus completed His assignment in three years—not because He rushed, but because He walked with:
The Holy Spirit
Angels
Divine instruction
Perfect timing
When angels take charge:
You avoid wrong turns
Delay dissolves
Time is redeemed
Mistakes decrease
Opportunities open
Spiritual battles shorten
The teaching emphasises that alignment, not effort, determines ease.
30. Misconception #3 — “Fasting Brings Angels”
The teaching directly addresses this misunderstanding:
Fasting alone does not summon angels.
Many prophets in Scripture walked with angels, yet their encounters were not triggered by fasting.
Angels respond to:
fear of the Lord
awareness
alignment
speech
spiritual maturity
Fasting shifts you, not angels.
It increases sensitivity, not angelic availability.
31. Why Angels Encamp Around Certain People
Angels identify environments that reflect:
Holiness
Reverence
Obedience
Sensitivity
Purity of thought
Love for God
Alignment with divine purpose
These environments are familiar to angels because they mirror heaven’s atmosphere.
Angels are not drawn to:
Confusion
Carnality
Indifference
Disobedience
Atmospheres lacking reverence
This explains why some believers experience consistent angelic activity while others do not.
32. Practical Recalibration: Removing Spiritual Distractions
To walk closely with angels, believers are encouraged to:
Remove unnecessary distractions
Clean up compromised areas
Stop comparing themselves to others
Avoid spiritual laziness
Follow personal conviction without mimicking others
Each believer’s journey is unique.
God aligns angels according to individual calling, not comparison.
33. Strategic Warning: Don’t Engage in Spiritual Battles Without Angelic Support
A crucial spiritual safety principle:
Do not engage in spiritual warfare without being sent or supported.
Attempting to cast out demons, pray deliverance, or confront darkness without angelic assistance is spiritually dangerous.
Why?
Demons recognise spiritual rank.
Angels carry authority that humans do not possess alone.
Without angelic support, believers can be overpowered in spiritual encounters.
This instruction is protective, not restrictive.
34. The Shift of the Seventh Month: Prophetic Acceleration
The teaching includes a prophetic declaration for the seventh month:
This period brings acceleration through angelic activity.
Angelic doors open to bring:
Speed
Protection
Clarity
Divine encounters
Breakthrough
Believers are instructed to align quickly because grace for movement is present.
35. Prophetic Instruction: Psalm 35 as Monthly Warfare Declaration
A powerful prayer template is given from Psalm 35.
This Psalm becomes the believer’s warfare chapter for the month, activating:
Angelic defense
Divine intervention
Reversal of attacks
Exposure of hidden traps
Destruction of demonic devices
Protection of destiny
Key verses include requests such as:
“Plead my cause, O Lord.”
“Let the angel of the Lord chase them.”
“Let their way be dark and slippery.”
“Let them fall into the trap they set for me.”
These are scriptural petitions that stir angelic movement.
36. Instruction: Pray Psalm 35 in the Morning and Before Sleep
This repeated instruction strengthens spiritual atmosphere.
Why repetition?
Establishes dominance over spiritual patterns
Maintains angelic deployment
Keeps the believer spiritually alert
Neutralises rising battles
Activates divine reversal
This is not ritual—it is strategic scriptural warfare.
37. Emphasis: Angels Are God’s Weapons
The teaching reinforces:
Shields, spears, bucklers described in the Psalm are metaphors for angels.
When the Psalm says “Let the angel of the Lord chase them,”
it means angels are Heaven’s active combat force.
This gives believers confidence that spiritual battles are not fought alone.
38. Declaration: Attacks Will Reverse Back to the Source
Key themes in the warfare section include:
Any trap set by darkness will backfire.
Those who dig pits for the innocent will fall into their own pits.
Snares, curses, sabotage, and conspiracies will collapse under angelic pressure.
Demonic devices targeting families, health, finances, or purpose will be dismantled.
This section focuses heavily on justice, reversal, and divine protection.
39. Importance of Praying During High-Grace Atmospheres
The teaching strongly emphasises:
When grace is present, believers must participate actively.
Worship is beautiful, but moments of prayer must not be replaced by singing.
A believer must engage prayer intentionally to benefit from the spiritual atmosphere.
This instruction builds spiritual discipline and maturity.
40. Insight: Corporate Environments Carry Shared Grace
A powerful truth is given:
The grace on a spiritual leader covers the people present.
When believers engage in prayer under that grace, breakthroughs accelerate.
When believers disengage, they miss the moment.
This reinforces the importance of communal worship, prophetic environments, and spiritual alignment.
